Facebook is starting to get on my last nerve...

When I first joined it was a nice place to socialize, share ideas, and catch up with old friends. It's gotten to the point of being a huge pain in the ass !

* You can't say what you want..someone gets offended...your so called "friends" will either write you something nasty via messages, comment on your status being snippy (assuming it's ALL about them), or delete you because you somehow offended them with what you're saying.

* Sarcasm and humor are totally lost in the FB world...see above with the offensiveness.

* I had a good (which now I do use loosely) friend from high school this past week..which would have been ok ..because we really don't communicate much- but being as I had a grammy conversation on facebook and I had some tongue in cheek statuses..something surely offended her - she kept my sister as a friend and she only met her once - 11 YEARS ago. Case in point.

* If you post TOO many statuses - it's wrong.

* If you don't get on FB enough - it's wrong.

* If you post too many links it's wrong.

* If you say you had a bad day..it's bad b/c someone else could have had a good day and therefore you made them angry..oh and HEAVEN forbid you have multiple bad days and you want feedback - I also had a friend delete me for that - almost 2 years ago..and it still pisses me off - I wasn't posting for attention I needed FEEDBACK b/c I am a pretty much antisocial person - She actually told me that I wasn't using facebook for it's given purpose ...I said that we all use it for different things - she disagreed. I haven't talked to her since - and honestly I don't miss her one bit!

* This leads me to my final point - Will I really miss anyone if I take a hiatus from FB for a while - (I am OVERWHELMED with other crap going on anyway - and without worrying about FB drama it would help things a bit - William says I am oversensitive about it..but honestly - I am NOT a social person for the most part and it's really trying to live the way everyone else on fb wants me to be - I can't please everyone in real life--- HELL if I am going to do it on Facebook.

Ah! I am filled with a familiar yet horrible sense of being overwhelmed. It's gotten to the point that I am so overwhelmed that I can't get ANYTHING done :-/ I hate it when I reach this level of stress :(

Working out helps a lot...especially the treadmill..but EVERY TIME I go there it's full..and it's really starting to grate my cheese :-/ I have weight to lose - and of course I was sick for 2 weeks..then I try to get going again and it's one thing after another. I NEED to gym it up at least an hour a day to really feel like me :( I may get some new music..thennn when the gym isn't full with people working on their new years resolutions..I can workout.

I don't want to bore you with the stuff I have going on..so I am going to leave this entry with - I am stressed out..and I DON'T know what to do :-/

I was on the lanes today at work - which is a change from my normal service desk life as of late...and something weird/interesting always happens b/c it's the name of the retail game! Today, a rang up a guest and she asked me how I enjoyed working there. I told her that it was nice and I liked it but I have my bachelors..so master level classes and boat loads of experience in "my" field. She said that she was thinking about having a "job change"..as she has already changed careers twice in her lifetime and her current place of employment just wasn't working for her anymore. . .

That part wasn't a problem to stomach at all... I mean..I left my job that I considered downright HELL and here I am working retail until I can find something that will actually "complete" me.

The lady proceeded to tell me that she not only has TWO Master's BUT she was working at a library making 15 bucks an hour - which was less than what I was making at my hell job with just my BA and some various classes Master's classes! Apparently the state is dropping hours and adding furlough days..as well as nickel and diming the checks for various reasons as well.

I had told her, before she told me about the double master's..that I was looking into it but I had been indecisive due to not knowing specifically WHAT I want to do and not knowing if the payout was even WORTH it (at least right now). It seriously got me thinking that I NEED to weigh starting a MA heavily and figure out an actual path beforehand. She told me that her 2nd Master's was in Library Science (which I had actually thought about getting into) and there are NO jobs out there for it..and she's so begrudged that she's thinking about leaving to come to retail. She also had the same initial feeling I did about being worried about it being "below" her and that there would be judgment. She is just tired of the madness of her work and she NEEDS out.

Annnnd, this is why I enjoy working retail so much. You get to hear so many stories and realize that you REALLY aren't alone in feelings of disgust at previous jobs or annoyances about the job market right now. You get to learn that there really ISN'T shame in working retail..and you have to do what you have to do.

I am constantly browsing to see what else is "out there" ..right now..not so much luck..but at least I can content enough where I am to NOT be miserable..which is saying a heck of a lot! :)

January Blues

So..it's January. I've never been a true fan of the month. There's the whole hoopla of Christmas...then New Years..then..oh wait January. I love the cold but January is always so bitter. It takes a lot of energy to accomplish anything in January..but one must power through!

I am going to be a bridesmaid in my friend Annette's wedding! I am soooo beyond excited! I have never been a bridesmaid..only a bride (yes..how fun to mix up a classic saying ;))! I actually really enjoying looking at things and doing what she wants done and not having the stress of the actual wedding. I think I would actually enjoy helping plan weddings for others - it's a really creative process for those not in it themselves :)

Weight - well I managed to gain 2 lbs in the month of December. There are a couple of reasons why: 1. I was sick ALL month..and on medication the majority of the month due to that. 2. I wasn't working out due to the fact that I felt so craptastical. 3. I was drinking a ton of soda and overeating like crazy - again b/c I felt bad.

This month..I have pretty much cut caffeine out of my diet..and I have started working out again.I REALLY want to lose 10lbs by Annette's wedding in April. I HOPE I can do it..sometimes I lose motivation for workouts or get out of the eating habits I should be in. I managed to lose about 7 to 8 lbs last year and I feel better about myself..so another 10 in 3 months wouldn't be too shabby (I lost the 7-8 in 3 months last year..then of course the 2 lbs back)

If I can reach that goal then I have further weight loss and fitness goals I would like to achieve. I just really want to feel cute again and go out and buy clothes and not feel like a fat chick allll the time :(

My snow scarf is almost completed yay! I have a furry/smelly scarf to do next..although I haven't quite figured out the specific pattern for it yet..and I don't know whether I will find one I like online somewhere..we will seeeee!

The extra room in our apartment is BEYOND gross and disgusting. I HATE it. I cannot even walk in there anymore..and it used to be the room I would go to ..to get away..play Sims..where guests would sleep. I don't want to go in there..nor do I want guests to. It has all of the boxes from my childhood..almost to the ceiling..not to mention my normal cluttermess..and there's still wedding stuff scattered b/c once I took the boxes in JULY (mind you) there's been no room whatsoever. So..I have a plan..hopefully..kind of. I have a serious LACK of motivation to clean..even though the room is driving me insannne. I would like to redecorate the room - I am thinking if I keep THAT in the back of my mind MAYBE I can power through..kind of like January. I really want a cupcake theme - although a coworker scoffed at it (listen..she didn't know that the last theme was eeyore - I would have to say that cupcakes are a step in the mature direction-- CUPCAKES rock) Cutest theme ever imo..and I found a LOT of stuff online. Hopefully this will happen too!

Alrighty...I think I am going to go find something fantastic to do...although William is feeling sick :( So it's hard when he feels so yucky..and it's weird that he isn't feeling well..with his "superior immune system" :(

Paid Volunterism?!

Ok..so paid volunteerism bothers me...In fact...I didn't even volunteer for PAID volunteerism! It's not VOLUNTERING if you are getting paid...at least that is my feeling on it! (YES...I KNOW that I am being redundant!) I feel as though if I am VOLUNTEERING your time you should not be paid! (mini rant over..thoughts?!)

Sooooo....I have been meaning to blog for while and I have just failed at actually doing so!

Let's see...what has been going on?

* Work, Work, more work ...I like to work (I actually like this retail job more than the past 3 jobs in my actual field..which is really sad)

* William and I went to Vegas to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary. It was one disaster after another..I am surprised that we made it back alive..seriously..it was crazy. (fun when it wasn't bad though!!!)

* It's driving me crazy that I can't find the yarn that I need to finish my Christmas scarf :-/ I don't want to have to order it unless I HAVE to!!!

* I haven't worked out in about 3 weeks :-/ And that week I had only worked out once..I feel horribly out of shape again..hopefully in the next 2 weeks I can get back on my 5x a week gym 3-5x a week Jillian workout..I have a LOT more weight to lose :-/

* Silence is the answer - I talk to more people at my new job now..but I really don't want to be part of any of their drama.....seriously retail drama is kind of lame..funny..but lame!

* The messy apartment is driving me INSANE..I should just start buying 2 tubs after work everyday and getting into that extra room. I hate spending money though..but I hate not being able to walk in a room :-/

*I am usually pumped about my birthday..but I feel kind of meh about it right now...I don't remember the last time I did anything super super fun for it...Christmas isn't even exciting me that much right now b/c of the money we need to spend to get gifts and the lack of room in the apartment :-/ I seriously wish we had a house..makes me sad I had to quit the job from hell..b/c if i wouldn't have..we would have had a house....bleh :-/ All my fault.

* I feel special that I am already training people at my job...hopefully I can be a certified trainer..it's so fun! The thing I hated about teaching was the working with groups aspect! I need to figure out what I can do with my love of working and teaching one on one..hmmmm

Stink Bugs and thinggggs

Ok..so the stink bug population is OUT OF CONTROL. On Tuesday there were NONE around our apartment..AT ALL now there are what looks like HUNDREDS just near our building alone. They are trying to get into my hair and sneaking in doors...I try to get the cats to play with them...then I decide..nah...who wants that STINK!?

I actually REALLY enjoy working retail again and maybe thinking I should get a MS in management so I can move up the retail ladder and do more with myself. I finally got to be in a huddle today (well the end of the huddle) and it was fun! lol. The cash office isn't that difficult..but it's complicated!! Just a lot of things to remember and keep track of ...I hope that by the end of the training that I will actually know exactly what I am doing and can be close to perfect at it (my first solo day is next Friday..and I am TERRIFIED!!!

Hellcats is on tonight--- I think it's my new favorite!!! (Something had to take over the Ghost Whisperer gap I suppose!) LOVE IT!

I REALLY need to continue working on my awesome scarf..just I am SO beyond exhausted that I haven't..not good..not good...

After tomorrow I don't have another day off until next Thursday..ahhhh 6 daysssss nonstop..should be interesting!

First Day!

So today was my first official day on the register (actually I was training following a woman named Ramona). I of course decided my name was Beezus for the day ;)

Anyway-- last night I decided I was going to study the sheet of things I would need to know for my "quiz" today on the subjects at hand. Ramona was impressed by the fact that I knew so much -- I stated that I was a hardcore nerd and I just like to know and do EVERYTHING. She was also slightly disturbed that I know that Full House comes on from 2 to 3pm everyday lol. I was also asking question really in detail and wanting to just be the master of the world (she said that normally she trains people that don't or want to know ANYTHING) I have decided that if I am not working my field..I will be the best darn retail worker ANYONE has ever seen or come across-- it's my new goal..for now (that and figuring out my masters of course...::frustration::)

Of course not everyone was nice or professional (to be expected) but overall was a really good day and for once I had FUN..lame I know..but that's better than being beyond miserable everyday and going INSANE right?!

I need to work on how quickly I scan items..yeah I know..I haven't done the retail thing in 6 years.BUUUUT I wasn't being timed before! After tomorrow I am not scheduled on the register due to cash office training until the following Tuesday..week and a half off of it. I am HOPING that after my cash office training everyday I will be on register some..gotta keep it fresh lol.

I am already trying to pick up hours ..so hopefully that will help me later..that and crosstraining. I need to ask if I can wear my capri's and see if I should buy myself some khaki skirts and such..oh and I REALLY want to find some ruby red flats...I am determined to be Dorothy lol.

I am SOOO beyond exhausted. Due to being SO nervous about starting up the new job and relearning cashiering and all new people ..I am just beyond zzzz. I don't think I have actually rested in over a week (and I have been working out 6 days a week too!) Frustrating! Oh and my feet are super sore.

But good news! I will be able to go on the mystery cruise with my ruffian peeps on the 26ths :) So beyond exciiiitttted :)

What I have learned

For the past 5 months I have been unemployed and I was the one who initiated leaving the horrible environment that I was in. I do not regret putting my notice in at all. The way I figure it I would have been fired like the other 15 if I hadn't. But there are some things that I learned during this 5 month hiatus from employment.

1. Getting a job is all luck - As Emily has told me and as we have observed...it's all about timing, timing, timing in the current economy. The right person has to see your resume at the exactly the right time and has to jump on it and call you right then. If you send your resume to an employer even a minute later than someone else you could be totally screwed out of a job --- not on your own accord of course. This is highly frustrating -- I applied to 50 jobs as well as posted my resume to multiple job websites and it was hit and miss actually getting a call or an email.

2. Job announcements are highly misleading-- It may have one set of duties listed on the announcement but if they call you to discuss your duties...it could be completely different. This does cause issues when you are looking for a specific type of job and suddenly they want you to interview for another (this happened to me multiple times). It's very annoying and disheartening when you have your mind set on one job and it's just twisted around. This is very true when applying to nonprofit agencies..be careful!

3. Having a Bachelor's Degree means nothing---or it means too much. I have realized that with my degree I am either UNDER or OVERqualified for pretty much everything. Applying to the jobs that only require a High School diploma that you want doesn't work because employers are ONLY looking for you to have the bare minimum (ie they can pay you less due to the fact that you do not have the education that warrants more) OR the jobs that barely pay more than the jobs that require a High School Diploma but that require a Masters degree. Having just a Bachelor's degree is like being stuck in limbo..even WITH 6 years of nonprofit experience..unless you're shooting for direct care or managing..there's not much out there.

4. (Kind of ties in with the above) If you have experience in the nonprofit field primarily ..it is hard to find a job in the for-profit "field". Generally you have a set of skills that are "supportive" not as much "profitable" (only way I can think of actually describing it). This also ties into the overqualified perspective. Very frustrating.

Finally - I will be working a job in the "for-profit field" ie..retail. I have not worked retail in 6 YEARS. I was going for the HR position but it doesn't open back up for a couple more months. They at least - recognized that I was CLEARLY overqualified and are saying it will offer me more job role flexibility (yay! ability to learn more) and after researching the company they do like to hire within IF you have a degree (which I do).

I feel like a loser for having to go back retail with all my jobs and experience ..not to mention my degree. But it's better than sitting at home and who knows what this could open up for me. Also, I still either want my Masters or some type of certification...I don't think this is "the job" for me forever..but I see it as a transitional job until I can either move up or move on.

On that note..how about if I LOVE this job ..even though the pay (isn't that good) and it doesn't really use any of my learned skills..what do I do then?? I want to be more but how about if it makes me HAPPY? Also..who will be looking down on me for having a job of this nature..what do I do if someone does see me as a loser for what I am doing...it is all very frustrating :(

So sad to find out that Rich Cronin (lead singer of LFO) died yesterday from Leukemia ...35 or 36 years old (differing reports on age).

I will be gainfully employed starting next Tuesday..that's my orientation. Hopefully I won't be the old fogey in the group (ahhh). Oh well at least I can be the smart one if nothing else ( I hope!! :))

I am getting a little obsessed with knitting again..but I really want to expand my skills this time..I need to reteach myself how to purl...then teach myself how to cable etc. etc. I want to make pretty scarves and I want to be able to sell them on Etsy or something..even better..I want to design my own scarves..I think that would be NIFTY !!! :)

I got my hair done..I hope it looks ok :-/ I lost 2 fb friends randomly ( I figure we weren't that close anyway or I didn't know them--ie frontier or farmville peeps) and I have no clue who they are..guess we weren't that close either way!! :)

Hold on for one more day

Today I went to a funeral for my friend's boyfriend's mom. I had not been to a funeral since my grandfathers at the beginning of 2008 and previous to that it was my own moms funeral in 2003. I feel as though funerals actually highlight the good that one has done as apposed to during the day to day of life when it is mostly negative and put downs are abound. Her funeral was really well done ( I had never met her and felt like I knew her afterwards---remarkable). She also died of cancer so some things came a litttttle too close to home for my comfort but it actually was quite therapeutic. Sometimes you forget that your mom isn't the only one who has died and that you're not living in that reality by yourself. His dad had died 4 years ago as well. It was just crazy. During the funeral a poem was read and it was odd because it made me think of one of my sister in laws - automatically so I sent it to her. Oddly enough she actually had heard parts of it before liked it..and didn't know what it was and was but liked the concept. Death works in mysterious ways.

Here is the Poem...it is called "The Dash" by Linda Ellis

I was back at the gym today! Yay! Yesterday I was just far too BEYOND wiped out to even attempt..and today I barely sweat..I guess I need to rev it up to random 3 on the treadmill next week..need a higher incline mash up! Love the gym!!

Today was much more productive than yesterday but nothing noteworthy occurred! I just want to make sure I keep blogging everyday :)

I realized today that I have a major pet peeve at the grocery store. This pet peeve is the people that decide putting their cars in the middle of the grocery store aisle. I understand if it's for a second -- sure that's cool. But, must we block it for ALL the other people who try to get through? If you happen to be in the middle of an aisle and someone is trying to get around you...moving would be the most excellent option. Standing there like a statue isn't helping anyone. I enjoy getting in and out of the grocery store as quickly as possible and respecting the other shoppers. Anticipate the movement of the carts as if you are in the drivers seat of a car. You cannot always be perfect - crazy cart accidents do happen BUT respecting those around you is always key :)! /pet peeve rant over :)

Today was one of those days where I didn't accomplish very much..or anything at all as it were. I ended up sleeping until 10am (which is actually REALLY late for me--I love to be up and at the gym by 8am). My PMDD is really hitting me hard this month. I am wondering if it's because I am on the generic of my birth control or just that my body is like..let's be crazzzy this month!

I ended up eating lunch and then hitting the gym after that. The gym has a different atmosphere in the afternoon that I really can't explain. I certainly hit my stride and got a fantastic workout though :)

I have an interview on Monday at a retail location (ah gasp I know..I am a horrible disappointment)...yes this is how I feel in my mind currently. I just feel like everyone is going to judge me and look down on me. I feel at this point--after almost 5 months of not working..that working is better than NOT working. I also REALLY would like a break from job hunting for a while. The job hunting is just getting so tedious and draining :(. I really want a job that I can learn and grow but even after applying to 50 jobs..NONE of those jobs fulfilled that need even when applying...which is disappointing in itself. So basically I have been having a feeling of worthlessness ..like if I work retail I will be forever judged and looked down upon or something because I have my bachelors and some master level courses under my belt and ugh I dunno. I just hate the thought of people thinking I am worthless because of it. It's all very frustrating. I WANT to do more and I have ideas of what I want to do and I WANT my masters as well. At least working retail will give me the opportunity to have more flexibility for working on my masters (if I can get accepted :-/) and give me time to take off and go on vacations. I am really trying to look at the positives but I am SO afraid of being judged. (rant over...for today)

I watched "The Lookout" today..FANTASTIC movie. I recommend that you watch it. It is about a man that was involved in a car accident and then ends up with memory problems (injury to his frontal lobe specifically). I am so fascinated by memory and the brain....Loved it. I am watching "The Love Letter" now..it's alright I guess hah. It is kind of amusing.

Oh and for the first time I heard the FULL theme of Full House. It's a special song...<3 that show!

Dream

So last night I had a very special dream.

I had a dream that I "had" (but not really) a kid. It was more like an adoption but it was just really bizarre. It ended up that my child grew up to be Dwayne Johnson (aka "The Rock"). The problem was (even in my dream) that The Rock was born before I was. So in my dream I was trying to figure out how I had a child before I was born...and took care of this child before I was out of my own personal womb. I had the child but the child was adopted...so in my dream I looked up his birthday on IMDB and found that he was born in 1978 (4 years before me)...in reality he was born in 1972 (just did a nice fact check on the real IMDB...my unconscious mind was only 6 years off lol). Anyway in my dream ...I found out that I gave birth to him 4 years before I was born..then adopted him once I popped out and took care of him even though I was just a tyke. Not to mention he's actually 10 years older than I am...but that's besides the point I guess.

I also had dreams about lots of candy..but that's pretty normal...ahhh CANDY!

* Have the 2 cutest cats..in the world
* Unemployed..but happier than when I was employed at my last job..BUT..still wanting to work somewhere..asap!

* Still addicted to movies!

I need to start keeping up with this again...I am actually headed to the mall now to get Cassie's birthday present..maybe I can find a neat story there :)

Ok. So I've been pretty crappy with updating this thing lately..but I've had ssooo much going on that this unfortunately has been at the bottom of my list of things to do I supposed lol!

I have a new job..I will be starting on Thursday of this week! YAY!! No more direct care for me..I needed a change, and I needed to start feeling empowered in my life again...no more being the victim, it's old and tired and I need to start acting like I have been the past month..with at least some discretion and using my brain!!!

Christmas and my birthday are quickly approaching and ..unlike last year when I was almost done shopping by this time, I've only bought ONE present..NOT good!!!!

I've been working out more and watching what I've been eating..and already in the last week I have lost ALMOST a lb! woo! So hopefully I can at least keep that up to be where I want to be in a couple months and not feel so out of shape and flabby!!

So this is the "month of change" for me..or so I've dubbed it! Too much going on and I'm attempting to keep as much stability in my life as possible..mind you it's really difficult when somethings are changing for me either way :(

First off...Next Friday is my last day at TJS ..I'm going to miss it and some of my favorite staff members (they know who they are!!!) like crazy..I'm going to be leaving them there and I'll be starting a new job that following monday..More like the same job just at a different establishment..ah!

Also the Friday after I start that said job we are MOVING..so that's about 2 1/2 weeks away too and I'm really starting to freak out about it. I'll be moving in with William after living by myself for the past 2 1/2 years..so it's kind of weird.. plus instead of the small little place I live at now..I'll be living in a bigger city..scary i tell ya :(

Gosh I'm going to miss people though... :(:( Already do

So Hurricane Gustav has begun to really move..Currently the winds of Gustav are around 150mph and it's headed for the Gulf Coast of the US.

I hope all of those that were there for Katrina 3 years ago are getting the hell out of dodge at this point!!! It's possible that the current category 4 hurricane could be a 5 at landfall and that is terrifying and amazing. Just think of something that strong and powerful that NO ONE has any control over. Weather is fascinating to me..an obsession if you will...

So the crazy of my life has gotten in the way of my amazing blog updates! Not good!! I love this thing and I think this is only my second post this MONTH!!! weird!

Anyways..here's what's been going on:

- I had a job interview and they are calling my references..I hope I get the job ..and I hope the pay is at least what I'm making now so I can take said new job. Yes I would love to have more money but I can deal with what I'm making now for a better overall schedule! So wish me luck! :)

- I'm moving in with my wonderful Will I am..sometime in mid September..I'm really scared but I'm excited :)

- My family is moving to where my dad's fiance lives..yeah..

- I will have to leave a job that I actually feel confident in myself at..which is weird..when I started I was sooo nervous and horrible and now I'll be moving to a new place and new people and my social anxiety has began even before anything has been officially decided.

- The Cruise/Florida fun times is in 2 weeks :) I'm really excited ..I cannot WAIT to go on vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- I'm still working out a lot..but not as much as last month..life has gotten in the way some so I'm trying to get myself going hardcore again. I did 6 miles on the gazelle today and the past 2 days I had 13 miles on the bike..so that is positive. I can't wait to move so I can use a treadmill and have a "workout buddy" hahah :)

Anyways, I'm watching Star Trek - TNG on Sci Fi so i'm going to go concentrate :)!

Oh the places they will go

So my dad is going to be getting hitched around January ( at least that's the rumor that I heard). Yes I talk to my father some but I never really get a full story on anything and I don't feel comfortable to be in the house when his future wife is there.

They are going to be moving into the town that she lives in now..about 3 or 4 houses down actually from her current house. Her daughter who is in college now is upset b/c my family will be taking over her space. Mind you my dad and her mom are moving into a NEW house and she is in college and will never be there..Honestly it would at least make sense if they all were going to live in the same house that she does now..but they aren't....

I also found out that b/c of HER feeling so uncomfortable at family functions..ie holidays and everyone is "too stuck up" for her. That all of the holiday's are now going to be spent at HER place. Mind you she has HUGE greek family (that I've never met ..ever). The reason why all holiday's are going to be with her family is because this past Thanksgiving it was at my dad's and my sisters, my one set of grandparents, and her and her daughter were there. I tried all of the bizarre food and the only people I felt comfortable talking to were my sisters at the time so we made jokes and tried to make the best of a bad situation..that was apparently "snickering" and being "very rude". I also ended up going into a room ALONE for a couple hours and at one point Cass found me and talked to me a little bit. Well that was apparently rude too..imagine that because I ..a have social anxiety and b just generally feel horrible around someone that I try to be rude and be there BUT at the same time I find a place to actually be me. She apparently cried and cried with her daughter..b/c everyone was so rude. Does she actually think that Cass and I even enjoyed that in the least bit? And of course my dad just yells at us for being rude when he knows us and knows how we are around people ..but he doesn't REALLY care about us anymore anyway...

Also it's been claimed that my grandmother (mom's mom) is trying to break up the family. I had to pick up Rachel from there last Sunday and I was with Cass. We ended up sitting down and talking to my grandmother for HOURS about things. And then I came back with them and my dad asked if I was going to stay for a little bit (mind you ..my dad's gf/fiance was there) so I decided ..honestly for my own sake (mostly fear of being rude or saying the wrong thing PLUS being talked out) that I would leave. That caused my dad and his GF to go into another little mini rant about how it wouldn't kill me to stay around once in a while and how I'm so rude and don't respect her. No I don't respect her but I at least attempt to act cordial!! I've gotten burned so many times by just being myself and I'm through with it!!! I'm an adult and sometimes just pushing through awkward situations are the best..I've tried and tried and tried to be this cookie cutter person for my dad and her and it isn't working so I just stopped about a year ago. Back to my grandmother..we're the lose cannons in the family. We are the ones that aren't molded into their perfect little world. Therefore we're the outcasts. I can only try so long and so hard to be what they want and honestly I think I'm out of ideas on what to do...

Back in January I took a survey on MySpace. I think one of the questions was about what are you confused or frustrated about and I had said "why my dad's gf has to be so mean all the time". She had just gotten the worst attitude with me and that was the day I ended up storming out of the house and honestly I haven't felt comfortable when she's been there since. Anyways at the time her daughter was friends with me on there...totally ripped me a knew one..called me a cunt and ranted forever about how horrible I am..for saying that her mom was MEAN. Cass talked to dad about this at one point and my dad defended his GF and daughter and basically said it was FINE for them to call me that because of what I SAID. Yes because me thinking someone is mean ..means that I'm a cunt..go figure.

Four years ago I got into a car accident and It sucked ass. I called my dad first hysterically crying and bawling and freaking out and needing help. He was at a family reunion about 45 minutes away from where I was. I asked him to come help me and he said he couldn't and for me to take care of it. I was really upset and I told him..uh ok and luckily was able to get a hold of William. William ended up coming out and helping me while my dad socialized his life away. Well the way the story is NOW told is that I called ..said William was going to help me and that he knew that I was in good hands and he didn't need to come. Which is 100% BS. I have been upset forever that my dad refused to come help me and he twists it around for her to make it look like it was my fault..isn't it bad enough that I was in a car accident..why add insult to injury and lie..

So in closing ..I won't be spending holiday's with the "family". I most likely won't be at the Hampstead house at all. I have no desire to EVER go there..If I can find somewhere to put my kid things from the house that will be my first priority. I'll just have to call my littlest sister a lot to know that I care about her but don't like everything that's going on. My family is screwed up and I want out..

Zoloft and the Bat Lady

So the past couple days have been interesting to say the least. I went to the GYNO and I was diagnosed with PMDD ...basically an extreme form of PMS..fun times fun times. Anyway so the crazy old bat lady of a gyno (seriously she was crazy..so she inherited bat lady from me as her given name) gave me 50mg of Zoloft to take every day for the week before the river runs red. I have never been on any antidepressants nor had I had a blood test or anything before this medication was given to me. I took one dose last night at 5:30 pm..About 3 hours later I was soooo hyper ..I felt as though I had a bunch of alcohol and that I was tipsy out of my mind and my concentration had gone down..I was watching a movie and I didn't know what was going on..It was really bizarre.

Throughout the night I was "sleeping" but I felt like I was awake..most bizarre thing..So I woke up and took my shower and felt as though I was going to pass out on the floor so I ended up laying down for a bit. At this point my heart started beating out of my chest..and this was just NOT enjoyable. I was starting to get the shakes really bad at this point too.

I somehow managed to get to work..even though it felt like the cars were coming after me..I get there and I can't sit still and I was having issues talking ..my speech was all fast and I would think of things to say and either not say it or totally forget it.

I ended up talking to my fave Nurse at work..and since she works there she knows how people should respond to meds. She took my blood pressure and it was higher than normal for me.

I was then allowed to go home. They just didn't feel safe with me driving myself so Heather got to drive me home and we had lunch and fun things etc so calmness would ensue as well.

Anyways before we left I called the Old Bat Lady's office and it took a half hour for them to call me back. She had said that ALL of the side effects were normal..(yes slurred speech is just amazing..guh), that I should take the medication before I go to sleep (which I also did), that I shouldn't take it with other medications that they should be staggered (I said I wasn't on any other medication! so it made no sense), and that I should KEEP taking this med that makes me feel like shit and call her on Monday.

I told them I didn't like the way it was making me feel and that I'm never taking it again. The nurse told me that she would pass that along.

I need a normal gyno that isn't 100 years old..and that doesn't ask me if I like pepsi while she's giving me a breast exam..thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No more! One appt with her was enough for a lifetime!

Of little eta again as of yesterday!Oh my!Actually yesterday was pretty fun I got to run around and finally cover a bunch of classes again other than being stuck in one (which I love teaching but it was great not to have the pressure of having to do the lesson plans and things! ) I feel a whole lot more relaxed. Today I had to cover all day..one class was HORRIBLE..but the rest weren't so shabby!

Planning vacation is still busy busy busy...

It's been quite hot outside, I didn't have my air conditioners in until yesterday so I haven't slept in my own bed in forever! I'm pretty excited about being there tonight!

I think Will i am and I have finally found an awesome apartment! And living near people that we both know would be nice..I am going to miss my place when I move though :( But I'm excited to be able to live with my honey..and afraid..lots of emotions.

Class is in less than 2 weeks..Hershey park is in a month and it's a little over 2 months til the cruise PLUS moving..craziest summer in a while but fun!

Shew, I kind of have a cold so I think i'm gonna finish this ep of Buffy and go to sleeeeeeep

So my neighbor just knocked on my door..he said "I have a question and I have a comment". I was like alright..He then asked if I could keep straight when the garbage goes out b/c it wasn't the same time last week. I was like yes, last week was a holiday. He then tells me that he will be gone at nights housesitting for a week or so. So basically he was telling me that for the next couple of weeks I'd have to take the garbage out! Which would be fine if he would just ASK me and not beat around the bush!!! For 6 months I couldn't even take the trash out b/c of my arm!

He by far is the strangest man I have ever met..no wait ..strangest person..and I work in the mental health field!!!

So at work we are going to start implementing the Circle of Courage/Response Abilities Pathways with the kids. I just had another 6 hours of training and it's really not that hard to actually get into the groove of doing what you should be now! Although I was doing a lot of these things before it's just nice that everyone would have to attempt to have the same mindset..THAT THE KIDS ARE #1! We are there for them and they are the ones we are trying to help not ourselves. I would have to agree that it is a pretty empowering training..but the sitting is not for me haha! :) I love school type things though! I just get antsy! :)

So the past week has pretty much been a whirlwind! <3

- Will i am and I are going on vacation and we've been getting things ready..me getting a passport and things! His parents are also going but they will have their own cabin area and so will his sisters! So I think that will be pretty fun! A cruise! woooo :) So we've been trying to figure out flights and hotels and fun stuff like that plus I've pretty much already started packing and figuring out what I need!

- I thought last week was my last week long term subbing but the teacher I'm subbing for is out for at least another 2 weeks. Which is pretty good monetary wise!! I need all I can get for the vacation!

- There was no American Idol post last week b/c of the crazy but Jason Castro was voted off..poor little cutie!

- I went to Heather's wedding on Saturday! Yay!! Congrats to my favorite! wooo :) I loved the wedding and the reception it was just amazing! Seriously the best wedding I've ever been to. Yes I rate weddings I'm a little bit of a weirdo I suppose! The only personal issue I had was when there were too many people and my social anxiety kicked in! But I was able to deal and tried to be social as much as I could and met a couple really awesome people!! <3

- Heather is gone on her honeymoon all week in Disney! How jealous am I!?

_ Right now I'm watching Vacancy..It's a little slow so far, I really hope it doesn't suck ass!

So I was running low on body wash and I usually buy it at bath and body works. I look through the window with hope and joy! There were new scents of goodness and a store full of goodies, fantastically delicious and delightful, the world was my oyster!

I walked in with my eyes a glow...I saw a customer service chic and skidded past her and hid behind some body wash display. Will i am was laughing at me like normal, being around people just isn't fun for me.

Anyways, I was looking around and minding my own business...for about 3 seconds. Then a HIGHLY annoying sales girl comes up to me and I of course play nice..She goes on about the sales blah blah blah seeing if I am finding everything ok. I tell her yes. I tell her thanks and that I understand.

I continue to walk around, for maybe two minutes TOPS! The girls asks me AGAIN if I'm finding everything I need and I go YES. I hadn't even picked up anything yet! At this point I've been talked two twice and I'm getting really annoyed.

So I continue to look around ..and it's not like I was the only one in the store..so I'm looking at the body washes. Not even a minute went by this time and someone ELSE came up to me and started bothering me about the deals and if I was aware of them and finding everything ok.

And I'm just so annoyed..I really wanted to just have a nice relaxing time shopping ALONE! And from working in retail previously I know that you're supposed to ask them if they need anything..but that doesn't mean harass them until they leave and never want to shop in the store again. I cannot tell you how many times I've gone places and decided to leave because of the customer service associates will NOT stop bothering me!!!!!! If I want help ..I'll ask...I don't need the constant annoyance it's just HORRIBLE!

So I'm boycotting bath and body works for a bit. And I ended up getting my body wash at Victoria's Secret where I was only talked to once and I was able to get what I wanted and didn't feel like I was being watched..now THAT's real customer service!

So I think I'm finally starting to feel a little bit better! I think this is because I played Super Mario Kart for the Wii for about 7 hours last night! I've completed 50cc and 100cc ..I have all gold cups except for the flower cup on the 100cc..which I hope to complete tonight. My ranking overall is B..so I figure once I complete the game I'll go back and work my way up to at least 1 star on all of the levels if not more. I haven't even started time trials yet or anything..It's one more of my game obsessions I suppose but I've loved Mario Kart FOREVER!!! :) Due to playing this I haven't been honing my rock band skillz tonight haha!

I should be going on a cruise with Will I am and his family this summer and I'm pretty psyched up about that!! I need to get a passport though! The best part is, is that we get to fly down to Florida and I've never been there either!!! :) Oh, plus the prospect of actually having a tan and not being totally pale !

This should be my last week subbing :(:( Which is really disappointing ..I really don't know what I'm going to do with myself when I'm just etaing again..I'm used to so many more responsibilities now and I hate being bored out of my mind at work!

I may go to the movies with Cass tonight..not sure yet though. All I do know is that I'm in serious need of groceries!! Because of gas prices being so INSANE I've been totally avoiding buying food. Although my need for body wash at this point MAY be greater than my need for food. I really hate spending money...really...I'd rather save it and never spend money on anything..then when shit goes bad..which it does all the time..then I am prepared..maybe I should get a credit card!

Also! I'm checking out apartments in about 3 weeks! So moving still is possible this summer as well! Which means I could have my own little KITTOWN! :)

So my stress level has been at an all time high for the past week. I'm not sure completely why though. I know things that are feeding into it though and they are making me feel not like myself at all..which isn't good!!!

- I don't feel well (and for the past couple months I've been pretty good ! But I somehow picked up something at work I suppose and my throat is KILLING me and my ears hurt...It's not good at all! Luckily my Will I am takes care of me :) He picked me up a vanilla coke and cookie dough arctic blend..and some reese cup ice cream. Yay for fat favors lol.

- Due to not feeling so hot I haven't worked out since Monday and working out is my stress reducer! I hope that tomorrow I can get myself moving again! I was losing a lb a week there for a bit and I'd really like to continue that trend!!(can't eat all the yummy stuff at the same time either!!)

-At work I'm on the SIT team and right now I'm also on the Resource Interview board. SIT doesn't really induce high stress but me in any position of deciding people's lives is a little stressful. I just hope that human resources does what they see fit from the results that the board has come up with. I unfortunately cannot go into any details about any of this in any venue!

- For the past month we have lost 1 staff member a week! I feel like our numbers are dwindling...fast! Therefore the kids are acting out more and it's just a pain in the butt!

-One thing i'm excited about is going my Heather's wedding! Woo! I still need to get her other present. I am however really nervous about driving down to the eastern shore. Will I am is off therefore he can't go :( :(:(

-Also trying to figure out the whole apartment situation has me stressed out a bit and gas prices! Which are out of control.

Another good thing though is ROCK BAND I love the drums! Oh and Grey's Anatomy is on tonight which I LOVE LOVE LOVE. And I'm obsessed with Scramble. And on a side political note ..root for CLINTON! :)

I'm trying to stay positive..2 3 day weekends are coming up and I REALLY need them!

American Idol Play by Play- Top 6!

Apparently the Idols will be "out of their comfort zone", so this should be at least amusing if nothing else! Andrew LLyod Webber! Paula is so acting..odd..again...lol

Syesha -(One and rock and roll too many)- I feel like she pushes herself to have a "great performance". It irritates me a little bit. And it's actually quite boring to me. Randy- Your element - could be a huge broadway star. Paula- this is your happy place, brought the house down. Simon- very sexy, agrees with randy, strongest performances so far, showed masses of personality. More comfortable in this area.

Jason Castro -(Memories) - I think it started a little rough but has progressively gotten better. Nothing else really to say about this one. Randy- vocal trainwreck, not your thing, too big of a song. Paula - you're not a female balladeer. but allows you to put own influence, unique being. Simon - longest 2 minutes of his life, young guy being forced. Miserable, not your style, struggle.

Brooke White - (You must love me) - she had to start over, which never bodes well, if she was playing yes but she's not. Otherwise, it's been ok..Randy- For me it wasn't great, least you listened to ALW. Vocally tough. Paula- You must never start and stop, you can pick up the pieces, didn't overact. Simon- This is why I love live tv, it completely threw you, uncomfortable, tricky one, you're going to be disappointed when you watch this back.

David Archuletta - (Think of me) - Not bad/horrible. Much more enjoyable than the last couple performances at least. Randy- You can sing anything, own personality, was da bomb, boys the one to beat. Paula- perfect, risk and were quite able to turn it into a pop ballad. Simon- pleasant, but one of the weakest performances over the live performances.

Carly Smithson- (Superstar) - Really awesome. The best performance of the night. Actually enjoyable for the first time tonight! woo! :) Randy - Def good, like the outfit. Paula - loved it so much. Simon - other than a little shouty in the middle of one of his favorite performances of the week.

David Cook - (Music of the night) - It's alright I guess. I dunno. Randy- Amazing vocal performance. Paula - Well rounded. Fantastic. Simon- made most of the song, too rounded but you made the most of it.

So I'm really loving how much it's been raining lately it's quite soothing and it helps with the sleeping process. I wouldn't mind if just rain all day every day. Yes I know that most likely seems strange. The majority of people that I know like it sunny 24/7 and honestly I get bored out of my mind when it's like that. Occasionally yes, all the time nah.

Work has been going ok. I've been trying to avoid getting into the many drama filled things that have been going. Plus if I move then maybe I can find a new job prospect somewhere that is less stress, we'll see, I think it would benefit me mentally to have a job that I didn't care about as much and that I was as invested in. It's tiring caring so much all the time for everyone :(

So I have my sister hooked on "Scramble", it's a pretty amazing word game on FACEBOOK. It's quite addicting. I like to have 3 games running at the same time and rotate between them it adds to the fun!!! I wish Will I am liked word games some times but alas..he's a gamer but not a word gamer !

I went on a shopping "spree" this weekend. I get very depressed trying on clothes. I weigh around 160 and i'm 5'7" and I wear either a 9 or an 11 in juniors for pants and a medium or large for shirts. I workout a lot so my legs are pretty much pure muscle. I hate my stomach and I'm trying to get myself back to having a flatter one. Right now my time of month is fairly close so I know i'm oversensitive but geez it's annoying :( I just want to be happy with how I look and I'm def not. Weighing 10lbs less would be amazing. So that is my new goal.

So i'm subbing for horticulture right now and I have this severe dislike of plants. I kill cactus' and I just really don't have the green thumb. I like to look and smell flowers but that's about all of it. I know a lot of people think that's really weird too. Guess i'm just a little left of center when it comes to a bunch of things...

Yay for Mariah Carey night! I'm really looking forward to hearing how they can completely MUFF it up! Yeah that's right honey! I SAID MUFF..correctly :)

David Archuletta (When you believe)- I think he picked a good song. I think he's doing good on this song but I also think that's it's fairly forgettable. His leather pants i'll remember longer I think. Randy- You can sing anything, that was the bomb baby. Paula- You made mariah proud (LOL). Simon - would have bet him choosing it in advance, it was great. Set the benchmark.

Carly Smithson (Without You) - Ok her outfit compliments her but I feel like the song and her together are kind of boring. And I love this song. I'm really not feeling it, I feel like she's straining quite a bit. Randy-Liked that she was challenging herself, beg was "loosy goosy". Paula- glad that there was vocal restraint..blah blah your own. Simon- Didn't think she pulled it off. Think she's holding herself. ok version.

Syesha (Vanishing) - I don't think this song will stand out and let me tell you why. She didn't pick anything that actually was popular. She also tends to over sing..blah
Randy- Like that she's bold. Good Job, all things considered. Paula- smart picking a song that most people know, using soft part, tonight was magical. Simon- technically very very good. Not sure at this stage that not many people know about (yeah simon!)

Brooke White- (Hero) - I really like her version so far. I think it was a pretty perfect song choice for her. Although i think it will be labeled as forgettable.Randy- Like the singer songwriter, was good until the bridge. pretty good. Paula- every ounce of you is authentic to who you are(ha). Brave thing to do. Simon- Didn't have much choice, much like ordering a hamburger with only the bun, doesn't have a strong enough voice to carry the song.

Kristy Lee Cook - (Forever)- Wow she's turning this song kind of country..I guess it's ok. Randy- didn't think it was amazing, pitchy parts, started stepping up at the end. Paula- very smart girl, stepping it up, blown away. Simon- You didn't give me chills. Managed with what you could, whiny, wasn't going to be an advantage. wasn't great.

David Cook - (Always be my baby)- I'm really enjoying this version :). I think this may be my favorite of the night! Randy- Ready to make an album, most brilliant performance (stood up!) Paula- Pretty awesome, could be in a movie soundtrack, you're it. Simon- Coming out of karaoke hell into a breath of fresh air, stood out by a mile, great artist someone who takes risks.

Jason Castro - (I don't wanna cry) - Wow, this is really smooth. Yup I think it's my second favorite of the night :). Randy- Didn't really love it, felt like i was at a weird beach luau didn't get it. Paula- i'd love to be at the luau listening all night long, getting confident, and zone, lovely to hear you, you are amazing. Simon- agrees with paula! not the best vocal, cool version. Guys won the night.

Ok so maybe that takes it a little too far! First it was the guitar for guitar hero that I messed up. Yesterday I got my Zune wet..and my wonderful William had to fix that! It's just not good. I drop everything all the time and I spill things on electronics constantly. Heather saw me on Friday knock over my water all over the keyboard..seriously it's not good. I'm highly surprised I haven't ruined this laptop yet..

So this weekend hasn't gone how I wanted it to :( I had my eye doctor appointment- eyes are worse :( Then I picked out and ordered my new glasses..more money GONE! Very depressing. And then yesterday which was supposed to be a super fun date day..didn't happen because I ended up getting some weird sickness..I'm thinking it was the milk I had..must have been going sour. So no shopping, no going out, no movie..blech.

I'm having some money stress issues. I need clothes..literally need them. And I feel like I just bought glasses and got my hair done and spent a bunch of money and I really don't want to buy things. But then I get stressed out because I barely have clothes to wear and I have nothing for spring/summer that's new :( I barely have anything in general..blech

So I'm sitting here watching Face/Off..Travolta and Cage..oh yes yes..<3 them like crazy!! :) The movie is really long though!!

Work today was really crazy. Actually all week has been really really frustrating. Teaching class has been really challenging. All of the kiddos have been talking nonstop simultaneously! Yesterday I had to stop the lesson on the board in math and I ended up giving them bookwork instead. I generally like to have more of an interactive class period than that..Mind you I'm only long term subbing but I actually care about my job so I do my best! At least I attempt to!!!

I really miss Will I am..and it's really annoying when his work week is like this. I've been very lonely lately and it just sucks.

This movie is really turning even more into a blood bath..oh my!

Welcome to Dolly Parton night people!!! Ryan just made a really lame April Fool's joke..oh my!

Brooke White- (Jolene)- Very cool seeing her on the guitar. She seems really comfortable. Good job. Randy- pitch problems, rushed the music, alright. Paula- consistent, you are who you are, emotional connection. Simon- lacked emotion, looked odd together, wasn't one of the best.

David Cook- (Little Sparrow)- I pretty much love this. There's not too much I can even say, David is amazing!!! As of right now I think he should win it all!!! Randy- showing range good, cool, hot performance. Paula- fantastic, well rounded as an artist. Simon- if you can make a song about sparrows good..congrats lol.

Ramiele Malubay -(do i ever cross your mind?)-Kinda pitchy. Good voice though. I think she almost forgot the words..that's not going to bode well mm. Randy-
kind of alright, pretty good performance. Paula- proud of her, connected with the audience. Simon- Cute, sang it well, forgettable, hear it on a cruise ship.

Jason Castro- (Traveling Through) - This so far is better than last week. I think it fits him more. I liked it. Randy- Pretty good, worked it out. Paula- one of the strongest performances, loved it. Simon- didn't like it, sounded like other songs.

Carly Smithson - (Here you come again (not sure the name..)- This is boring me. I like voice i guess but this is just bland...Randy- will be a better performance of the night. Paula- amazing, looked great. Simon- good, not great.

David Archuletta- (Smokey Mountain Memories) - Better than before. Seems into the song which is good. Sounds good. Reminds me of someone but i cannot think of who!!! Randy- he's back. Best performance. Paula- glorious, great aura. Simon- Absolutely on the money -song choice.

Kristy Lee Cook- (Coat of Many Colors) - Eh it's ok. Kind of Pitchy. Making me sleepy actually. Randy- very nice performance. Paula- look stunning, great. Simon- Pleasant but forgettable.

Syesha Mercado-(I will always love you)- This is ok. yeah that's it. Randy- pretty good, alright. Paula- growing and connecting with the audience. Simon- 1st good, 2nd part was not. good not fantastic.

Michael Johns- (It's all wrong (prob like this song title lol) - This song suits him. It's good. The song overall is kind of bland to me. I don't think he is though, he's singing it well! Randy- Keep on bringing it up every week. Paula- you're a star, rock star, blues..Simon- Best he's heard him sing.

Ok..so yeah..Bottom 3..These are kind of hard to pick this week!!!

April Fool's Day!

Happy April 1st everybody!

I'm pretty excited that it is..and let me tell you why ..

First off ..nicer weather (my fave season is winter but I'm excited about wearing some spring clothes!!)

Secondly, I want to go to some battlefields, and go to Harper's Ferry again and take a bunch of pictures and get some good walking time clocked in.

Thirdly- perhaps I"ll get some sun..I'm pale as ale !

So relationship wise things are going pretty good I think. We're going to try to not be stuffy this weekend and *gasp* actually go out somewhere lol. I'm a very homebody person and I'm very cheap so I like to avoid going out for that reason and the fact that I have HORRIBLE social anxiety. So I figure after this weekend I wont' wanna go do anything for months..cept for battlefields!! But William is actually off on some of the weekends for a bit so I figure now it's the best time.

So, there was a fire in ocean city this week. The Dough Roller burned down, which I was not very happy to hear. It's one of my fave places down there! The other Dough Roller doesn't have the yummy clam strips! So it's being rebuilt but won't be open until NEXT summer! boo! I'm just happy Tony's Pizza didn't burn down!!!

Oh well ..i'm gearing up for American Idol! :)

So I love the job that I do because I work with high risk kids that are already on meds for their issues and need some serious attention or in some cases lack of attention. I feel like I'm making a difference and therefore it makes me feel good. Right now I'm long term subbing and I've been imparting knowledge (cept for in horticulture..that's the blind leading the blind with the one)and it's great. Knowing that one of the kids can even kind of simplify fractions when they had NO IDEA before the class is awesome..gosh I've missed math..anyway totally not where I'm going with this blog!

So the majority of people I know now either..a- have kids, b- are preggers with kids or c-are trying to have kids. Then there's me, I have a serious kid aversion..ESPECIALLY little babies. I think I figured out where this came from. First off, I'm the oldest out of 3 kids. Cassie is 17, almost 18 and Rachel will be 11. I will be 26 at the end of this year. So when Cassie was born I was almost 8. I was around to help feed her and change her and bathe her etc at a pretty young age. Then when Rachel was born and a preemie people ALWAYS thought I was her mom..mind you I would have had to be 14 almost 15 when I had her so I was ALWAYS super embarrassed. I ended up taking care of her a lot on top of doing a lot of schoolwork and things. I wasn't allowed out of my house EVER in High School, I wasn't allowed to go to dances or do much of anything. And it wasn't by choice at first, but then after a while of being overprotected you just go into your own shell..which I did pretty easily. So I would watch my sisters a lot and play video games and stuff.

Anyways, then my mom was diagnosed with cancer and Rachel was only 3 and Cass was 10. That was my senior year of high school..actually right after i turned 17..and right before my sisters actually turned those ages..anyways...it was the constant feeling of having to be a parent when my parents were always gone on medical appointments and chemo and things. Then of course my mom died in 2003 and yeah..blah.

Anyway, so being around kids to me doesn't mean the "oh look how cute they are". It's more the..oh no It's time to take care of them factor and if i'm around a kid then i'll have to babysit and it WILL never end. So I try to avoid seeing babies especially, they really stress me out. I don't even see them as cute, I see them more as super responsibilities. Hence me having a fear of babies..that's my fear ..taking care of them, i've already been there done that I feel and at my job I'm already helping the underprivileged.

My issue is that I feel like I'm being judged because I don't like babies. It's not like I don't like kids. I don't want one. But it's not like I don't like them. Babies aren't my thing. I really wouldn't mind being an Aunt. I figure of my sisters will get knocked up within the next 5 years..could be either one which is the scary part!

Maybe sometime in the LOOOOOOOOOOOONG far far away future I will want a baby...but right now..blech. So don't hate because I don't like babies..just understand that I have my valid reasons. (at least in my mind..which is all that matters!! :))

So it's been quite a while since I actually did an update on here! I've been in my American Idol mode or just exhausted lately so it causes me to not really want to write much I guess hehe :)

Let's see what's been going on. I got my hair done yesterday and normally it costs me about 100 bucks..well it was 150 dollars and I am not happy about it..I guess because my hair is so long it kicked it up a bunch..plus on the sheet it had FOIL and 4 process and hair cut..I don't even understand what she was trying to say. I guess it's because I had someone different. Another thing I do NOT understand in the LEAST bit is giving a tip to a hairstylist! I understand waitress' and people of that nature but hairstylists..really? And I never know what exactly to tip..I gave 5 dollars and I would have given her more if I wasn't SHOCKED by how much it was! AND it's not even how I like it so now I feel like I look like an idiot and want to hide my hair all the time. It's WAAAAAAAAAAAY to blond and it doesn't have enough red..I wanted RED with BLOND not BLOND with some red on top and ALL red underneath..I think I look like a complete idiot..ugh..I can't wait until at least the highlights fade some!!

In other news I'm still long term subbing so I'm getting teacher pay. I planned on paying my car off in the next 2 months but because of this hair adventure and needing some serious spring/summer clothes I may wait it out for 3..either way it's done before October ..that's when I would be officially done.

I really need to scrub every inch of my apartment down and go through things and either throw them out or donate them. Right now at Bon Ton when you bring in clothes you get a 10 dollar giftcard. So maybe I can put some stuff together. I wear NONE of the clothes in my closet..most of the clothes I wear end up just staying in the clean clothes bin til I wear them...so really if I haven't worn them in the past like year I know i'm not going to wear them. Some of the clothes in there I've had since HIGH SCHOOL!

Ok I think I'm done for now hehe :) Also at some point I'm going to have a new layout on here..i'm BORED with this one !!

Wow WHAT is Paula Abdul wearing lol!?

Ramiele Malubay-(Heart- Alone) First off I love this song..always have lol ! I'm really impressed with Ramiele again! She's finally singing like she did earlier in the season! LOVE this! :) Pitchy in areas but amazing! Randy-said wrong song choice/pitchy, paula-said she's brave, simon-said it's not as bad as Randy said, said she'll get through.

Jason Castro-(Sting- Fragile) Happy Birthday to him! He always picks songs that work for him I think! Awesome as always! Randy- very good choice, alright. Paula - "staying true to who you are", nothing different, playing safe/zone. Simon- Says he's had 2 bad weeks and that he should take it seriously/clumsy/laid back.

Syesha Mercado (If I were your woman) So far it's much better than the past 2 weeks for her. Yup much better. Good performance for her I think. Randy-good moment for you, best she has ever sung, stellar, shocked, another competitor in competition. Paula- Moment when Syesha flipped it..fantastic. Simon- Best so far, the end wasn't as good as randy said.

Chikezie- (Lionel Ritchie - If only for one night) Ok. Yeah It's ok. Not horrible not amazing either though. I guess it's just kind of boring. Randy-didn't love it, very old school, not vibe, boring. Paula- throwback, good throwback,great job. Simon-sang it well, performance was cheesy, said he needs to show originality/misses his personality.

Brooke White (Police- Every Breath you take) One of my all time favorite songs!! oh no she flubbed up right at the beginning..I hope the judges don't freak out on her too much !! :(:( There she goes, at least she's making it her own some. Good after that though! Randy- interesting song choice, didn't like end arrangement, ok alright. Paula- enjoyed more than last week, consistent. Simon- agrees with Randy, if she would have kept on the piano w/o guitar would have been better.

Michael Johns (we will rock you/we are the champions) Hate that he already had a record deal. But this is FANTASTIC! Awesome song choice!! I am impressed. Although I don't think he should win overall..should be someone that hasn't had a record deal. Randy- Best performance since he's been on. Paula- Your shining moment, proud. Simon-first time he saw star potential, just got it right, only memorable performance of the night.

Carly Smithson- (Bonnie Tyler- Total Eclipse of the Heart) Record deal thing..again. I like this actual song. Much better performance than last week. I feel like she's straining to sing or something though. Hmm. It was ok. Randy- Liked it didn't love it, thought it was just ok. Paula- loved what she did at the end of the song, said she could do no wrong tonight. Simon- said she was uptight during the performance, something didn't work, needs to lighten up.

David Archuletta (Johnny Farnham-You're the voice) He seems a whole lot more confident during this performance. I'm digging it. Randy- He had mad skills. Paula-said he could sing the phone book hah. Simon- Didn't like it at all. Reminded him of a theme park performance/didn't think it was him.

Kristy Lee Cook (God Bless the USA)- This is amusing to me and makes me want to watch "Drop Dead Gorgeous" lol. Least she is singing this week..pitchy though..sounds like what Simon said that David Archuletta sounded like..a theme park performance. Randy- great song choice, good except for some of the pitch issues. Paula- poignant, watch pitch issues. Simon- Best performance by a mile, most clever song choice in years, overall good performance, will keep her in the performance.

David Cook- (Michael Jackson- Billie Jean (Crystal Meth's version) Very soulful. He can really sing, I could see him being the lead singer of a band. Yup LOVE it! :)
Randy- most original/bold, he may be in the one to win. Paula- blown away, smart, brave, brilliant. Simon- Brave. Amazing.

Let's hope my next predictions are more on par than last week! lol :)

American Idol- Play by Play

Watching American Idol and decided to do a blog of my opinions..! woo :)

First off it's another (Lennon-McCartney was last week) Beatles night!

Amanda Overmyer- (Back in the USSR)- I think she chose the perfect song! I love her energy and her voice! Amazing performance!!! :)

Kristy Lee Cook (You got to hide your love away)- I really like her outfit!! I'm having some issues hearing her, her words kind of run together..and she is kind of pitchy and doesn't seem that excited to be there!! I like the actual song though. Just her performance is kind of boring..mmm ..let's see what the judges say lol ...hahaha randy said "boring" too...haha paula mentioned the outfit lol...and there's the performance part from Simon haha.

David Archuletta (The long and winding road)- I love his voice. It's very crisp. I think this performance is a little boring and predictable though. But it is ok. judges- not agreeing with randy or paula or simon. They all thought he was better than I did!! lol :)

Michael Johns (A day in the life) First off I want to mention again how irritated I am that he is on American Idol at all because of a previous record deal. Now it's time to review his performance...Wow he just hit a really sour note! I like his voice but I prefer some of his previous performances. He's not really captivating me in with this performance. Judges were in agreement with me! Johns is trying to pull in votes with why he picked the song..good job pulling heart strings for votes! And yes it's sad but c'mon !

Brooke White (Here comes the sun) I adore her voice. She actually looks like she's enjoying herself! Which is very refreshing after the past couple performances. I love how she's wearing yellow for this performance too! Love it! Aww judges didn't like it!

David Cook (Daytripper) Wow first off this totally sounds like a song that should be on guitar hero! I love this rock vibe! So far this is by FAR my favorite of the night! Everyone but Simon agrees!

Carly Smithson ( Blackbird) First off she had a record deal and I have previously ranted about that fact. That said..Not used to her doing a ballad. It's not bad, something different at least. Now that she's singing with more energy I'm enjoying it! Oddly enough during judging she kind of pulled what Michael Johns did..with her whole blackbird flying thing! Although Simon's response was amazing "Now I feel bad I think you're all broken birds " ha

Jason Castro ( Michelle ) He is so hot..wow! LOVE HIM! so adorable! Learning som French for this song pretty amazing hah. Little pitchy! eeek! He looks like he's having so much fun !! aww they think he was awkward!

Syesha Mercado (Yesterday)I kind of like her. And I really like this song. But I really don't like HER singing THIS song. I think it's because I've heard so many incarnations. So it's pretty bland to me. Although I didn't like her much last week either. So maybe I don't like her! hah! Wow I was totally opposite of all of the judges that really liked her!

Chikezie (I've just seen her face) I'm not normally a fan of him. But i'm LOVING this!!! I think it's amazing! Although I preferred the slow part it's just ok now hmm. Opposite opinion of randy lol. Simon kind of agreed with me though!

Ramielle Malubay (I should have known better)Cute outfit! I like her but this performance is still a little boring! Judges agree for the most part!

Yes I bought myself a giant furry pink bunny and named him Floppers. I'm pretty psyched about this..yes I'm a fan of stuffed animals, they are AMAZING!

So I made a list of things I needed to do..here's how those things are going!

* I saw my sister the last 3 days in a row! yay! :) She's still covered in a horrible rash and feels like crap though :(

* I went to buy new glasses ..BUT my prescription is no expired..So now I have an eye doctor appointment on April 4th..THEN I can get myself some new glasses yay!

* Shoes- I haven't even had a chance to look for them yet..or clothes really..boo!

* I haven't seen Will I am since Sunday, so I'm not sure whether I'm going over tonight or tomorrow.

*Working out wise, I was doing better like a week ago. I can do 3 miles in under a half hour..but before I was doing 4.5 miles in 45 minutes. But my body I guess needs a break or something. But I'm still working out!

* Cleaning is going to be happening today..I really don't WANT to clean but I really should..ew :(:(

* BUT I get Enchanted and Dreamgirls today! So at least I'll have things to watch in between the great cleaning brigade! :)

* Relaxing hasn't really happened yet ..but I figure I should be able to around the movie time :)

OH and yay for my MRI being clear! But I am being sent to a neurologist..but i'm HOPING that when I manage to get new contacts and glasses that it helps me out..and then I can cancel that appointment! :)

Plus I have a hair appointment next friday! That will most likely take HOURS to do but I'm pretty psyched to have a new do! :):)

So this week was absolutely nutso! But now it's over and I have a whole WEEK off of work. This is a much needed vacation for my poor little body and mind! I'm really excited that I won't be redirecting people for a whole entire week, that I won't have to deal with all of the high school drama among staff AND among students for a week, and that I won't have to deal with certain staff stressing out about every single detail of the day!

Some things I would like to accomplish this week are:

* Continue my working out (it's going well and there's a 5k that we're doing with running club either the 29th of march or the 5th of april!!)

* Find some new shoes (mine are gross and falling apart now and I've only had them since June!!)

* Find some SPRING clothes (my clothes bore me to death and it's almost Spring time and I would like to look adorable and not like the super frumpmiester that I feel like now! Plus I continue to tone up and lose weight so my clothes don't fit the same anymore!)

* Find some new glasses (I haven't bought any new glasses for myself since 2001, and I've been wearing contacts since 2005. I just would like some so I can give my eyes a break now and then, plus maybe it will help with the headaches!)

* Visit my sister (She managed to get MONO..*which I had 5 years ago and it RIPPED apart my tonsils..and then I had a tonsillectomy 2 years ago* so I want to make sure she is doing ok and not going completely crazy sitting at home alone for a week. Especially because I'm off and can come visit her awww poor sister!! :(:( )

* Spend quality time with Will I Am. (Since I don't have to work and I won't have work stresses this is the perfect time to do that <3)

*Relax! (last but def not the least, I NEED IT!!)

Now i'm off to shave my legs..also known right now as the jungle.

4 more days of work until I'm off work for 5 days! The first time I've had a vacation (of any kind) since JULY! I'm spending the majority of the time resting and spring cleaning some. I'm just looking forward to not being at work..although I'm going to miss the kiddo's like crazy! It will be nice to just focus on me and doing what I want to do!!! I hope that will include lots of working out, going to DC and hopefully going to the cadaver exhibit in Baltimore! :)

In other news I don't know why people keep telling me to crack the whip! I'm not a whip cracker!

In workout news..4.5 miles in 42 minutes! :) I'm pretty psyched about that..yay for the gazelle!

Oh and I've also started watching Buffy again straight through because it's one of my favorite shows in the WOOOOORLD! :)

The only bad thing is, is that my throat is kind of tight..and I'm a little concerned about getting strep since William and Cass have both had it within the past week! eeekers! And mine hurts, I pretty much need constant liquid..right now it's tight :(:(

I just finished watching Bridget Jones' Diary- Edge of reason..It was an amazing movie but it always gets me in that "marriage mood"..oh boo hoo on chick flicks!! I wish they weren't so cheesy predictable and amazing! :):)

Physical therapy today was HORRIBLE! I'm still sore and I had it way over 12 hours ago. This other physical therapist hurt me (my normal amazing one..was out of town!). I'm kind of worried because I have her again on Tuesday..blech! She's really nice though, but the pain of her massage was just horrible horrible!

Work today was interesting. People quitting without notice and not a lot of people being there overall. All of that coupled with kids that decided today was a nice day to yell..oh wait that's everyday!

Cass is over tonight ! Woo! She fell asleep on the couch before I started my movie! haha..she's hilarious!

What a week!

So normally it's ..post post post..for me and nothing too entirely interesting going on...well this week was completely opposite!

I'm long term subbing so I've been working on lessons and making tons of copies and trying to keep my head on straight with the kids acting out hah..what a run on!

I was with William Monday night up until tonight. Which was fun but he's still ill and my head still is annoying!

Most of the drama going on has been within the past two days. Yesterday a coworker and I went down to one of the boy units to ask an evening staff when the best time to do running club would be. The unit ended up being totally insane! So instead of asking her, he ended up doing a bunch of holds and I ended up attempting to keep a bunch of the kids calm. Well at one point, one of the kids - who happens to be 13 decided it was a good idea to touch my leg. I clearly said no, that's poor boundaries, etc and began to walk away. He then kept trying to get a frontal hug from me. Which I again responded with boundaries no no no. I ended up putting my non gimpy arm up to signify the arms length away and to back up. He then used his opposite hand to grab my left boob. I ended up just like walking away and behind staff desk and had to get him a packet on sexuality and then I did an incident report. He then of course began running around saying "i grabbed her boob, I grabbed her boob". Which on one hand was hilarious because I was wearing my amazing water bra..so I barely even FELT IT hah. he was basically touching water..but on the other hand I was just sexually assaulted by a 13 year old and couldn't even really do anything about it other than walk away.

This brought back fun memories when I was in 5th grade and my neighbor decided it was a great idea to squeeze both of my breasts and say - "titty titty bang bang" and I waslike 10 at the time and hell I barely have boobs now..let alone then..so weird!

So today I had a follow up doctor's appointment for my headache issue. My Cat scan came back clean so there was nothing in my sinuses to be a real issue. On my way to work and on the way to the appointment my car began to shake really bad and I felt a slight twist on the left side and it was really making me worry. I pull to the gas station and go to check my tires and my driver side left tire had a psi of 20. Yeah that's not good. So I filled it up and my car was STILL shaking like crazy. In the meantime I called my doctor's and talked to a highly rude receptionist. I had told her that I was running a little later and I wanted to let her know. I explained where I was ..she then asked "um do you know where you are and get here as soon as you can"..Yeah lady i'm just going to take a joy ride around town before I show up thanks..Her tone with me was just HORRIBLE! That's what I get for being courteous I suppose! So I finally get there about 15 minutes late and my nerves were just completely shot. It was 4pm and my head hurt and I was starving and I had to pee. I at least got the bathroom thing taken care of when I got there. So I go back to get my blood pressure done. ..it was pretty amazing 107/70 which I was not expecting due to the stress level. So I then talked to the doctor and He gave me a prescription to help with a could be migraine and I will be getting an MRI done to make sure nothing is seriously fucked up with my head..which scares me..blah

So I leave there and my car starts shaking like crazy again. I end up calling somewhere and I drive across town a guy looks at it. My tire was about to just burst and I was told not to drive on the interstate. The place that I usually get tires at was closed for the evening so I had to go to Firestone. I walk in there at around 5:30 and I get ignored for a while and finally I talk to him and he says they'll take it soon but it won't be done until 7..i'm like great..I still need to get a prescription filled and that's a long time for a tire..and i'm starving..bliaslsldkfh;l. So I sit there til about 6:30 pay $150 for a new tire and go on my merry way to cvs to drop off my prescription. That's another 45-1 hour wait. In between that time i have a 20 min phone convo with my sister and my dad. so it's 7pm at this point. So I go to get food at taco bell..due to not eating since 11am..and the person in front of me orders $31 worth of food at a DRIVE THRU! That doesn't even make sense! Go inside if you have THAT much food you need to order.

So I finally eat and get my medication and get home and I have 3 netflix movies that I know I cannot concentrate to watch. I have physical therapy and work tomorrow and I think i'm losing my mind..and I haven't watched American Idol in 2 weeks..which isn't like me at ALLLLL!

I REALLY want to ride in one or at least see one for myself! I of course prefer the Creme Egg ones..I'm a little obsessed about cadbury creme eggs..It's a little scary actually ! :)

Happy March!

Wooo It's March! I'm pretty excited about this. I hope to be able to wear some cuter clothes in the next couple months..weight loss plus pretty outside weather! yaya! :):)

I had my CT scan today, I must say that I enjoy MRI's more. I don't really know why..even though MRI's are much longer at least they don't smell gross!!

I get to see my William later today and I may hang out with Cass some depending on time and if she's with her man all day and all night or not lol!

I'm really excited that I'm going to be off for a week this month, I'm finally looking forward to something! And going to DC is always super fun and I cannot WAIT to take tons of pictures.

I think that is all for now..I have 3 netflix movies coming today which I'm pretty psyched about as well! I wish my apartment didn't look like a hell hole..guess that's what i'll be doing most of the day..cleaning! PUKE! lol :)

Welcome to Leap Day isn't it grand?

Anyways, this week has been super crazy, there were so many stories but I've just been totally exhausted..here's a fun weekly recap!

- I have a sinus infection

- I was put on amoxicillin and that made me drowsy...took 2 hours to get said medication

- I had to call the doc per his orders on Thursday because I wasn't clear head wise

- CT scan in the am tomorrow to see what else they can do for the sinus build up ..YUM! hah

- I'm now covering for a couple weeks (well..) maybe not the couple weeks..just until the teacher comes back. I'm actually enjoying this teaching thing more than I was before..In fact the kids said that I made it FUN today..I feel special! The only class I'm not confident in teaching is horticulture..I kill cactus' so yeah hah

- William was also sick this past week..so we've been a real pair of winners lol

- I hung out with my sister yesterday..we went to pizza hut and received our appetizers AFTER our meal..we were told this was due to "back up"..Well the two guys that came in 20 minutes after us had already eaten their appetizers before we got our meal...damn us for not being boys or loud..I feel so invisible sometimes

- My workout schedule from being sick lately is totally off kilter..I hope to work out tomorrow and on sunday ..running club is supposed to be starting back up on monday and there's a 5k coming up. I'm pretty psyched. Luckily i haven't gained any weight..my 3 1/2 lbs have stayed off somehow..beats me how!

- I'm exhausted..so no song of the day due to the fact I can't keep my eyes open! lol

I just took a wonderful nap because well I've been nursing off a sickness for the past 3 weeks or so and I'm PRETTY exhausted, and thats no joke my friend!

Anyways, I just had an amusing dream that I had this little purple kitten with yellow eyes. It was so small it could fit it in a spoon. My dream had this weird narrator and he was stating how not to feed your mini cats dry food. I was putting tons of wet and dry food in a giant container for the little kitten. I then decided to pet the little kitten and the kitten sprawled out and attempted to choke me with all of it's limbs..It was very disturbing hah, then i woke up.

So yeah..song of the day!

American Idol Controversy

I've been an avid American Idol viewer for it's 7 year run. I love the show...but this season I'm getting a little irked by the artists that have been let through the rounds into the top 24. Why you may ask? Well the fact that 3 of the contestants have already had recording contracts in the past:

Carly Smithson and Michael Johns (pictured below)

And Kristi Lee Cook.

From ABC NEWS:

"Under a different name, Smithson was an Irish singing sensation, signed to a six-record deal with MC records in 1999. In total, the label invested more than $2 million in her."

and

"Michael Johns, formerly a band frontman named Michael Lee, had a record deal five years ago."

and then..

Is it really fair to have these "ex professionals" competing with the run of the mill American Idol contestants. This is a dream come true for many of the finalists and for those who have PROFESSIONAL experience already it seems as though that is a DISADVANTAGE to the others. I just don't get how it's a fair competition to any of the others...I will make sure NOT to vote for those 3..they've already been able to live THEIR dream to some capacity...I want others to have a chance!

So, I love working in the human services field..really I do. I love helping the kids and enjoy my job (most of the time). It's been pretty crazy lately..maybe the lunar eclipse did it to them..who really knows hah.

Anyways...The reason for this rant is over the weather and working at a 24 hour RTC (residential treatment center- for those who are not aware of our lingo). The weather is supposed to be PRETTY gross tomorrow.

We are currently in a winter storm warning:

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 PM EST FRIDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STERLING VIRGINIA HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 PM EST FRIDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

A STORM MOVING IN FROM THE SOUTHWEST WILL BRING PRECIPITATION INTO THE COLD AIR ALREADY IN PLACE OVER THE REGION. THE RESULT WILL BE LIGHT SNOW OVERNIGHT...FOLLOWED BY FREEZING RAIN FRIDAY INTO FRIDAY NIGHT.

I live about 30 to 40 minutes away from my job. We all recieved an email today about ..making sure we're there "ON TIME" and leaving "AMPLE TIME" to get to work. Pretty much not caring about US risking our lives for WORK..come on..really!

I have a physical therapy appointment at 8:30..which is even further away from work..another 20 or so minutes out. I made the comment " Well I guess someone is going to get me..shovel the road out i live on(can't b/c of my gimp arm)..then the driveway, then pick me up..drive me to PT..then drive me to work" AND the best part is..If they pick you up they WON"T drive you back ..you have to find a ride for yourself..and that's if the EVENING staff even COME IN!

So why YES i do want to be stranded at work until monday ..why not!? NO I don't want to risk my life to come in if it's horrible and honestly I think it would be a waste of time to come get me. I have a phenomenal track record for coming to work...so I think if the weather is bad and because I live so far away that they should just let me stay home and not risk my life..thank you!

He got me tons of chocolate and a stuffed bear..which I have named Berry Poppins! :) Super cute, he's my gay bff now :)
